Defund the Military · Defend People and the Planet

This session explores and challenges how nation-states attempting to out-compete one another in destructive military powers waste resources that should be used for meeting human and environmental needs. This workshop will serve as a closing for this year’s GDAMS and it’ll include an analysis and perspectives from different GCOMS members and collaborators from Asia and Europe. It’ll be a space where activists that work for the reduction of military expenditures can meet, and share strategies and good practices.

Questa sessione esplora e sfida il modo in cui gli stati-nazione che tentano di superarsi in termini di potenza militare distruttiva sprecano risorse che dovrebbero essere utilizzate per soddisfare i bisogni umani e ambientali. Questo workshop servirà come chiusura delle Giornate Globali di azione sulle spese militari di quest’anno e includerà un’analisi e prospettive di diversi membri e collaboratori del GCOMS dall’Asia e dall’Europa. Sarà uno spazio dove gli attivisti che lavorano per la riduzione delle spese militari si incontreranno per condividere strategie e buone pratiche.
